Oaks Hospital Charity of the Year
Oaks Hospital and its staff are very keen to support local
charitable causes and each year our employees nominate a charity.
The elected charity benefits from all fundraising initiatives for
the year.
As a hospital we tend to choose a cause which is in some
way health related and one which is close to the hearts of our
employees.
We are delighted to announce the Essex Air Ambulance was
nominated to be the new cause for the Oaks Charity of the Year.
Some Oaks staff were given a tour of the Ambulance's
base at Earls Colne in July and learnt more about how
it operates. The Essex Air Ambulance relies on donations to
run this much needed service in the community and through internal
events at Oaks and various Essex Air Ambulance events, we look
forward to supporting this local charity.

St Helena Hospice Donation
Following a hugely successful staff quiz night
and raffle at Oaks Hospital, General Manager Ian
Milne handed over a cheque totalling £463.30 to Kate
Alden from St Helena Hospice. The total also included money from
collection boxes within the hospital. Oaks have supported St
Helena Hospice for a number of years as a local Colchester
charity which offers patients and their families the best care,
both at the Hospice and out in the community.
