How to refer patients to Oaks Private Hospital
GPs can refer patients for outpatient consultations, diagnostic
tests or treatment by writing to the appropriate Consultants.
Appointments may also be made via telephone, directly to the
Consultants’ Medical Secretaries. Referral letters may be faxed via
our dedicated GP fax line on 01206 855 125.
Direct Access Services
Patients may be referred directly to the following services:
- Physiotherapy
- Radiology inc. X-Ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy,
contrast studies and dental X-Rays
- Pathology services available when patients attend with a
completed request form including haematology, histology, cytology,
microbiology

NHS patient Choice
Oaks Hospital works in partnership with the NHS, and is a
recognised provider of NHS Services through the Extended Choice
Network (ECN) contract.
Under the Choose and Book system either GPs or patients can
choose the hospital best suited to patient need. The system is
quick and easy to use and patients will have a consultation and
surgery carried out if necessary, within 18 weeks.
A number of appointments are available across a range of
specialities, and can be selected through the NHS Choose & Book
system. NHS patients receive the following benefits:
