Breast Services
Diagnostic Clinic
All women with breast symptoms/problems, for example a pain,
lump, nipple discharge, should be referred by their GP to the
Consultant Breast Specialist for:
- Clinical examination
- Breast ultrasound*
- Ultrasound guided biopsy and fine needle aspiration
*Mammograms and breast screening are currently performed
elsewhere within the Ramsay Group.
Breast screening is only suitable for women over the age of
40 and with no known breast problems (asymptomatic women). Referral
must be obtained from a GP and results of procedures carried out
are interpreted exclusively by a consultant radiologist with
reports being sent to the referring clinician.
