Oaks Hospital welcomed student nurses from Japan

Oaks Hospital welcomed student nurses from Japan, supported by Colchester Language School for a tour of facilities, to discuss what it is like to work in the UK and the differences in healthcare in the UK compared to in Japan.

The student nurses had a fun and factual session with ENT and Head and Neck Cancer Consultant Mr Arcot Maheshwar, followed by a tour of Oaks Hospital clinical departments including theatres and recovery.

They enjoyed a quaint English afternoon tea with tips on how to make a scone with jam and cream. We were joined by Naomi from Oaks Housekeeping Team, who grew up in Japan and has been working at Oaks Hospital for three years and the student nurses interpreter.
