Rt Hon Priti Patel tours Oaks Hospital
On Friday 25 June, Rt Hon Priti Patel MP visited our Oaks hospital in Colchester to tour the new CT scanner and diagnostic suite. Ms Patel is the local MP for the neighbouring constituency of Witham, and many patients from the local area routinely attend Oaks Hospital for access to high quality health services on both NHS or privately funded pathways.
Dr Andy Jones, CEO and Amy Simpson, Hospital Director conducted Ms Patel’s tour. They were particularly keen for her to see the new CT scanner, which considerably enhances the Hospital’s ability to meet urgent clinical care needs and is a response to advancements in imaging technology which make the increasing use of radiological investigations by clinicians a more effective form of diagnosis, leading to the correct treatments.
Commenting after her visit, Priti said: “It was a most illuminating tour and it was particularly fascinating to see the way the Hospital has adopted new technology to enhance the treatments it offers. The new CT scanner is particularly impressive.”
Dr Jones said: “It was great to have Priti here on site with us and we were pleased to be able to give her the full tour and to brief her on exactly what we do at Oaks Hospital. Our recent investment in the new CT scanner has been made to support our continued delivery of high quality patient care to the local community, including patients from the Witham constituency. Ramsay Health Care, prides itself on its strong relationships and partnership model of working and I am delighted to be able to showcase Oaks Hospital and the great care it provides to the local MP.”
