Oaks Hospital Restaurant
The Oaks Hospital Restaurant is open Monday to Friday* for visitors to enjoy a range of freshly prepared food and snacks. Lunch is served in the Restaurant from 12 noon to 1.30pm** where you can enjoy fresh soup of the day, a choice of hot meals including a daily vegetarian option, pre-prepared and made to order sandwiches, or a selection from the fresh salad bar. The weekly menu is displayed in the Hospital’s reception area so you can even plan your meals ahead!

Oaks Hospital has been awarded 5 out of 5 stars for hygiene by Colchester Borough Council under the Council’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS). 2012 was the third consecutive year the hospital has been awarded 5-stars. The Oaks received the highest award for excellent hygiene conditions, a very high standard of compliance with food hygiene legislation and very high confidence in the management.

Colchester Borough Council and the Food Standards Agency’s inspections are undertaken to ensure all food is handled and prepared safely. Following an assessment of the premises, an overall number rating from 0 (worst) to 5 (best) is awarded for compliance to food law in food hygiene, structure and cleanliness for example repair, lighting and ventilation, and confidence in management. The individual scores are then translated into a star rating and posted on their web site.
