Qualified Bachelor of Medicine at Southampton University 1984. Passed MRCP(UK) exam 1989. Did clinical research into mechanisms of allergic asthma and the use of novel immunomodulatory drugs in severe asthma at Royal Brompton National Heart & Lung Institute from 1993 to 1997. Completed higher specialist training in Paediatrics (which included two years of sub-speciality training in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and Allergy at Kings College Hospital, London) in 1999. Consultant in General Paediatrics (Allergy and Respiratory Medicine) at Colchester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since August 1999. Appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2001. Was honorary consultant at the Department of Paediatric Allergy at Evelina Children’s hospital, London from 2001 to 2015.
