Dr Hiskey is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, as well as being an Associate Fellow, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and Expert Witness with the British Psychological Society. Dr Hiskey began his psychological career at the University of Surrey where he obtained a first class honours degree in Applied Psychology and Sociology (1999), winning both the departmental prize for best dissertation and the Russell Wicks Memorial Prize for best student performance in examinations and coursework.
Dr Hiskey then completed a three year PhD in trauma psychology at the University of Essex (2003) before working in the NHS and completing a second doctorate, in Clinical Psychology, via University College London (2006).
His research interests are varied and include post-traumatic stress disorder, compassion in a therapeutic context, psychological responses to trauma across the lifespan, sexual compulsivity, the therapeutic relationship, CBT for anxiety among people with dementia, audit and care planning.
